ULBC take on the Challenge at the Snowdon Challenge
On the 5th of March ULBC took part in the first Snowdon Challenge. Each team had an ergo (rowing machine) on which they raced as a relay team. The race lasted for 20 minutes 15 seconds, which was Cambridge’s winning time in the 1950 race.
Nathanial Reilly O'Donnell and Cameron Nichol were forced to pull out on the day of the race. Forcing the club captain Fil Ljubicic and UCL President Alex Davidson to take on the challenge.
Against such Luminaries as Andrew Hodge and Alex Partridge we were always racing against the odds. Our team started well but the strength in depth of the others started to show after 4 minutes.
We finished 6th in a tight group for the last three place including IC and Oxford. Although no one wants to loose being close to the Oxford team with $ present blues (including the Winklvoss brothers) Hodge and Reed.
The club owes a depth of gratitude to Tom Broadway for burying himself for the cause. Thank you Tom.

Swings and Roundabouts for ULBC at GB Winter Assessment
GB winter assessment proved to be a mixed bag of results but still shows progress on last years.
Nathaniel Reilly-O'Donnell (Noddy)M2-:
Noddy's pair showed great speed in the time trials to finish 3rd overall and raced consistently in the Semi and Final to finish 4th overall. This shows very strong progress for Noddy who is still an Under 23 and is fighting it out with many of Britain's Beijing medallist. Noddy is now in training in Portugal and we wish him well with his training.
Jess Eddie W1x:
Jess performed well in the single over the weekend to finish 3rd in the B final. She goes into today's pairs matrix with confidence and is sure to show her strength in her preferred discipline.
