ULBC Trial Races Magnum Show more "Pose" to beat Blue Steel
More pictures of the big day http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/101768746336259882865/ULtrialsfeb10#ULBC's trials races on Friday the 19th was blessed with a mild and sunny day which showed the club off in the best possible light. The hard work put in by supporters and athletes has moved the club back to some of its former grandeur.
The Womens group was once again struck by illness with Lottie Howard-Merrill and Kate Hewitt being pulled out on the morning of the race. The late notice of the illness meant that it was impossible to get two more subs from college. On a positive note the new Filippi quad took to the water for the first time. Crew W4x: Amy Broadbent, Beci Humpreys, Orla Hayes, Ellen O'Mahoney
The Mens eights racing proved exciting as always. The crews were selected in such a way that the younger talent and power were in Blue steel while the more willy old dogs were in Magnum. With Magnum winning all three pieces it showed that experience will still win over youth, although not by much. A Full report can be found on the link below "Read More" with pictures available at
