As is always the case with any sporting event there were winners and losers over the weekend. Our 1st eight (49th) had been showing good progress over last weekend while training at Dorney. Unfortunately this speed never seemed to translate on the Tideway. There are many reasons as to why we didn't perform to the top of our ability on the day but these are only excuses and we will be doing some soul searching over the next two weeks on training camp. We hope this can make us stronger come the Summer. The 2nd eight (35th) showed how if everyone in a crew buys into the same ethos they are capable of reaching their full potential. This was a very strong result and we are very proud of the guys from cox to bow. While not being the results we had hoped for the strength in depth is encouraging with another four guys on the bank training hard, seats are going to be hard fought. For those who are disappointed with their results they must remember it is how we deal with bad results which defines us. |
