A Busy Weekend of National Trials for ULBC
Due to the adverse weather conditions disrupting trials over the past few months next Saturdays trails will be the first chance for some of our athletes to show what they can do. Nathaniel Reilly-O'Donnell will be teaming up with 2008 World Champion James Clarke (London Rowing Club) to race the pair. Jess Eddie pictured above competing in the Wingfield Challenge Cup will be staking here claim on a seat in the Senior Team. Trying to achieve Under 23 Women's selection will be Emma Young, Lottie Howard-Merril and Ruth Carpenter. On the lighter side of life Cath Copeland who raced to 4th place last year in the Lightweight Single at the Under 23 World Championships, will be looking to once again show here dominance in this discipline. Olivia Oakes is unfortunately on the sick list but will be using the time to train in Portugal. There are 4 representatives on the Men's side with Niel Barton showing his vast improvement to compete in a single in his first year of sculling. Geoff Reading and Alex Torbica have come back from Geoff's injury and are showing improvement in the pair while Max Gander is hoping to push for the top coxing slot. Orla Hayes will also be competing at the Irish National trials on the weekend.
