Good Show of Strength at Quintin Head
Whilst not scaling new heights, ULBC showed good strength in depth with the mens first eight finishing just in front of the second eight by just 11 seconds.
The womens team performed well, even after a very disrupted preperation suffering from a series of illness.
The mens first eight virtually repeated the good performance of last year by finishing 6th overall (7th last year) and 2nd in IM2, 35 seconds off the winning Cambridge crew. The result blooded a number of new UL oarsmen in their first season and showed that there should be a good summer ahead.
More encouragingly, there was no 2nd eight last year where this years 2nd eight finished 8th overall and showed a strong hunger for seats in the first eight.
A developement crew with new members and those coming back from injury did well to finish 22nd, however, will be upset to lose to UCL's 1st eight by less than a second.
UL's womens crew finished 4th overall in the womens section and 3rd in IM1. While not being the result they had hoped for this reflects the difficulty the squad had in preperation with an illness depleted squad.

We are now esurient for the next challenge.
